Fire Brigade
I am member of
the voluntary fire brigade Hinterberg. It is one of the three fire brigades in
my village Tragwein. The voluntary fire brigade Hinterberg has about 70
commitments a year. There are 195 members in my fire brigade.
At the moment we
are 15 teenagers in our group at the age of 11 to 16 years. Since last year we
have four new coaches. We train especially in spring and summer to prepare for
the following season which is during May and July.
At the voluntary
fire brigade Hinterberg we have three groups of adults. One of them is very
successful.
During a
competition we have to take part at two different types of parcours. They are
called attack and relay race. The time of these two competitions will count
together and will convert to points. The group with the highest number of
points is the winner.
When you are 11
years old, you are allowed to make a knowledge test every two years. You have
to study things like ranks of the fire brigade members, small extinguishing
tools, fire prevention, knots, traffic education, first aid and dangerous
substances. When you pass it, you get a badge.
The winner of
the last world championship was Poland. On the 2nd place was Austria
with the fire brigade Tragwein and on the 3rd place was Italy. Tragwein
is the main fire brigade of my village.
Our fire brigade
was very successful some years ago. They were already at the world championship
in France, Finland and in Sweden.
My sister
recommended it to me. This was the reason why I joined this club four years
ago. It is one of my favourite hobbies now.
