Healthy Eating Guide

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my new blog entry.
I’ve just studied the “Healthy Eating Guide”.
It gives a lot of information about health. Now I will give you a little summary of it.

The first thing for a healthy diet is that you should eat lots of kinds of starchy foods. Starchy foods are for example breads, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes. This kind of food gives you a lot of energy, which you need for a good day.

Secondly, you should eat lots of fruits and vegetables. It would be very good for your health, if you ate at least 5 kinds of that every day.

You can combine this example in your breakfast. You can eat for example cereals with strawberries, a banana and an orange.

It is also mentioned that you should eat more fish. It would be great, if you ate at least two portions of fish in a week. There are very good kinds of fish, for example salmon, trout, herring, tuna, sardines, cod and plaice.

Basically what it says is that you should cut down on fat and sugar. This means, that you should only eat this kind of food in small amounts. Cut down on sweets like cakes and biscuits and on food like sausages and hard cheese, too, in order to get a better health.

It is also very unhealthy, if you eat more salt than you should. In the UK, 85% of men and 69% of women eat too much salt every day . If you love salt, you should try sea salt, it is a lot healthier.

The text also says that you should get active and try to have a good weight. This means, it is not healthy if you are underweight or either overweight.

A very important thing is that you should also drink enough water. You should drink at least 1.2 litres of liquids a day, but when the weather is warm or when you get active, you should drink more.

Last it says that you should not skip breakfast. As I said, you should eat enough starchy because it gives you much energy for the whole day.

See you soon.

Yours,
Kristina
