Press Review - Global warming
Hello everyone! Welcome to my press review.
I was
reading an article the other day in the online edition of IndiaCelebrating.com and it talks about
global warming.
I
thought you might be interested because all of us are responsible for climate change.
Global warming is a big problem nowadays. We all are responsible for melting
glaciers, changing weather patterns, rising sea levels, floods, cyclones and
droughts.
Basically
what it says is that
greenhouse gases support the negative effects in the earth’s atmosphere. All
over the world humans use carbon dioxide emissions, burn fossil fuels and clear
a forest. I think you know that all off these impacts lead to a worse world. Carbon
dioxide remains concentrated in the atmosphere for even hundred of years and I
think nobody of us is conscious about that, when driving by car or heating with
fossil fuels.
The author mentions that because of the global warming low-lying cities and islands have been inundated with seawater because glaciers are gradually melting. Rainfall patterns have been also changed and now there are droughts in some areas, fires in others and there are also some flooding areas.
It is also said that the recent years have been unusually warm, causing this worldwide concern. What shocked me most was the fact that temperature is likely to rise by 1-3.5 Celsius until 2100. Instead of 36 degrees we may have 39 degrees in summer. In my mind this is an example to think about and recognize that we have to change something.
What puzzled me most was that the increase of carbon dioxide actually began in 1800 with the emissions in the wake of the industrial revolution. Since then global warming has gotten worse.

In my
mind it is
important that developed countries cut back their emissions, but I think
it is impossible to convince them about the negative aspects of emissions. As
for me I am going to change a few things, for example to go short distances
instead of driving by car. Maybe you could change a little habit in your life
as well in order to support the environment, because together we could change a
little bit. We should be aware of the consequences because in a few years we
can’t change anything anymore and I’m sure that we’ll regret it.
What do you
think about global warming? Do you think it is bad for yourself? Would you
change something? If yes, what?
Thank you
for your attention!
