English in Action
Hello
everyone!
I have not
written any blog entry for such a long time, but today I am going to tell you
about my intensive English project week in my school. As, you already know, I attend the business school in Perg. Last week it had offered a five day
long English course and I took part in it. The course is called “English in
Action”. During this week, we had three teachers, who were from the USA.
Sue and Rory usually live in New York City. Suzanne comes from Kentucky.
We were
three classes and each of them had a main teacher. Ours was Suzanne, she was
about 40 years old. She was a teacher for 20 years and now she has been teaching
English in Action courses for two years. She told us, that she was the first
time here in Austria.
Our main topic
was business, of course. We made a big business plan and I think it was really
interesting. I have not done this in German yet, that is why it was much more
difficult to do it in the English language. Our company was called Super Fruit
Drink. It produces three different drinks, which are 100% natural.
Besides we
learnt how to spend money in a right way, about teenage entrepreneurs, how to
make a perfect presentation, how to get recruited and we learnt tips about how to
do a great interview. For all of us it was very important to learn, how to make
a perfect presentation, because at the end of the week we had to present our
company to the other two groups.
My personal
opinion is that it was a really interesting week. I did it the second time,
this time I learnt a lot more and I made a few new experiences. I did not
learn so much new vocabulary but I learnt how to talk without thinking very
much about the words. Because when one of the English teachers asks you something,
you should not think too much about what you would like to say. If there is a word,
which you do not know, you may not say it in German, but you should describe the
word.
I am not
sure, if I would do it a third time, but I think it was a great experience
again. If you have the possibility, you should do it.
This was my
blog entry about English in Action. I hope you enjoyed it! See you soon!
Yours,
Kristina
