In our last English lesson we talked about St. Patrick's Day. Today I'd like to give you some Information.

Every year in March 17th, people of English speaking countries celebrate the St. Patrick's Day.

It is celebrate to remember on Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick’s Day is also called Paddi’s day, it’s the national day for Ireland and is a cultural and religious celebration. Saint Patrick was a bishop in Ireland. At the age of 16, he was kidnapped by raiders. When he came back, he made the decision to become a priest.
It is celebrated all over Ireland and everywhere in the world where Irish People or their descendants live. The first St. Patrick's Day parade was held in Ireland in Waterford in 1903. In the beginning, it was a three day long celebration, but now it is a five day long celebration.
It is also celebrated in other countries some of them are Great Britain, United States, Canada, Argentina, Switzerland, Russia, Asia and New York. All of these counties have different traditions.
New York is famous for one of the biggest parades all over the world.

The people wear a green hat and a green coat every year on this day. Green is the colour for Saint Patrick's Day as it is the national colour of Ireland. Sometimes they only wear a green shamrock on their clothes because this Symbol is also for Ireland.



In my mind, it would be very interesting to celebrate St. Patrick's Day once. I think it is a great festival and I think it leaves a lasting impression on you.

Hello everyone! I have just watched the trailer of the movie „Outsourced“, which talks about the cultural differences between American and Indian business life. Today I want to give you some information about the movie regarding the employees culture and outsourcing. Basically what it talks about is that an american guy, who is travelling to Mumbai should learn the people, who are working in the call center, the American culture and mentality. The employees there have an own cultural identity and it is difficult for them to learn the American style. Typical Indian topics like the holy cows or the colourful Holi-festival also play a significan role in the movie. Fire Brigade

Fire Brigade   I am member of the voluntary fire brigade Hinterberg. It is one of the three fire brigades in my village Tragwein. The voluntary fire brigade Hinterberg has about 70 commitments a year. There are 195 members in my fire brigade. At the moment we are 15 teenagers in our group at the age of 11 to 16 years. Since last year we have four new coaches. We train especially in spring and summer to prepare for the following season which is during May and July. At the voluntary fire brigade Hinterberg we have three groups of adults. One of them is very successful. During a competition we have to take part at two different types of parcours. They are called attack and relay race. The time of these two competitions will count together and will convert to points. The group with the highest number of points is the winner. Hey guys! We were talking about Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday in school today. British people celebrate these days respectively on Friday, Saturday and Monday in one week. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are essentially the same expect the date and how the shop sell cheap offers. Black Friday offers cheaper products in shopping malls on Friday and Cyber Monday offers cheaper products online on the following Monday. In general the products are 30-60% cheaper. On Black Friday and Cyber Monday you are able to make the best deals, because almost everything is quite cheap. The background idea of these two days is that people start to shop earlier. It is every year on the fourth Thursday of November. First nation-wide Thanksgiving was proclaimed on 26 th of November 1789 by George Washington.
