Heyy everyone!
Welcome to my new blog entry.

In our last English lesson we talked about St. Patrick's Day. Today I'd like to give you some Information.

Every year in March 17th, people of English speaking countries celebrate the St. Patrick's Day.

It is celebrate to remember on Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick’s Day is also called Paddi’s day, it’s the national day for Ireland and is a cultural and religious celebration. Saint Patrick was a bishop in Ireland. At the age of 16, he was kidnapped by raiders. When he came back, he made the decision to become a priest.
It is celebrated all over Ireland and everywhere in the world where Irish People or their descendants live. The first St. Patrick's Day parade was held in Ireland in Waterford in 1903. In the beginning, it was a three day long celebration, but now it is a five day long celebration.
It is also celebrated in other countries some of them are Great Britain, United States, Canada, Argentina, Switzerland, Russia, Asia and New York. All of these counties have different traditions.
New York is famous for one of the biggest parades all over the world.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmNc-NTfmPcThe Irish Festival includes some habits, for example the traditional Irish Music, drinking Guiness and eating bacon and cabbage. The people wear a green hat and a green coat every year on this day. Green is the colour for Saint Patrick's Day as it is the national colour of Ireland. Sometimes they only wear a green shamrock on their clothes because this Symbol is also for Ireland.

In my mind, it would be very interesting to celebrate St. Patrick's Day once. I think it is a great festival and I think it leaves a lasting impression on you.

I have put a link of a video down there, which includes more Information about St. Patrick's Day.

By for now, see you!
Kristina
